A few words about ALMA

ALMA is a non-profit association that provides services to children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities.

ALMA’s journey began in 1996, when a group of professionals from various fields – from the field of special education – wanted to contribute to the acceptance of diversity in all aspects of life.

With determination and love, over the years ALMA has designed and implemented numerous programs for children, adolescents, and adults with autism and intellectual disabilities, aiming at their psychosocial development and full inclusion in a society of equal opportunities, while also supporting their families.

ALMA stands by the family from the difficult moment of accepting the diagnosis to supported living.

At ALMA, we start with early intervention and follow the child’s journey through all aspects of life, like a parallel family, empowering both the child with a disability and their family to discover the strength of diversity and the opportunities it creates.

Through educational, sports, and cultural activities, we aim for holistic, therapeutic, and individualized interventions tailored to the needs of each child.

All our actions are complete and are designed according to the threefold philosophy of our organization:

  • Education and inclusion of the person with a disability
  • Support and relief for the family
  • Awareness and sensitization of the community

Year after year, ALMA grows, evolves, and renews itself, embracing more and more individuals with and without disabilities and their families. Today it serves 250 beneficiaries and over 500 parents and guardians.

The Panhellenic Association of Adapted Activities "ALMA" is a non-profit association, with registration number 4533/1996, registered in the National Registry of Non-Profit Private Sector Organizations of the Ministry of Health (FEK 494/1-10-2015) and supervised by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family.

Our Vision

The inclusion of autistic children and disabilities in a society of equal opportunities.

This can ONLY be achieved through targeted education of children with disabilities as well as the education and awareness of school students and the wider community, which will lead to a change in attitudes and perceptions for the acceptance of diversity.
