The Supported Living program is addressed to adults over 18 years old with mild or moderate intellectual disability, Down syndrome, and high-functioning autism, who wish to live independently and make the most of their abilities. Residents of the Supported Living Residences live together and share meaningful experiences, building their autonomy and creating lifelong relationships with one another. The Residences operate throughout the year, and participation is lifelong (members may remain in the program indefinitely as long as they continue to meet the admission criteria). Through the program, residents develop daily living skills (cleaning, personal hygiene, cooking, etc.), become more independent, and actively participate in their community. Group outings (cinema, cafés, etc.), excursions, and holidays are frequent! At the same time, residents learn to take care of themselves through healthy nutrition and light physical exercise. Residents also receive weekly psychosocial support, while their families are offered counseling twice a month. The ultimate goal of the Supported Living Residences is their equal social inclusion.
The S.L.R. staff is composed of highly trained professionals who truly love their field of work. The staff team includes: Supervisor, Operations Manager, Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, Special Educator, Occupational Therapist, and Caregivers.
