Training of Disability Support Assistants “Stand by Me”

Training for Assistants – Facilitators of Children and Young People with Disabilities

The Department of Internship, Training & Volunteering has been offering training seminars since 2000, and since then, twice a year, training programs are conducted for assistants of individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.

 The program:

Target group

Students and graduates of special education, pedagogy, and humanities-related fields, as well as anyone interested in receiving training and learning about diversity.

Program Dates

November and February
New Dates: 13-14-15/01/2026

Duration

20 hours of theoretical training & 110 hours of practical internship

Participation Cost

€120 (or €60 for unemployed participants and university students)






Upon successful completion of the training, participants receive:

Certificate of Attendance

All participants receive a certificate upon completion of the seminar

Employment Opportunity

Participants are immediately employed by ALMA as support assistants in the association’s excursion and summer camp programs

ALMA was founded in 1996, is a non-profit association, and is based in Paleo Faliro. ALMA provides daily care for 250 autistic people and/or intellectual disabilities aged 2 and above and employs 90 staff members.
