Creative Activity Center – KDAP for Persons with Disabilities (KDAP AmeA)

KDAP AmeA

The Creative Activity Center offers a wide variety of artistic, cultural, recreational, and psycho-educational activities, and is designed for children aged 6 and above, as well as young people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. At the same time, information and support meetings are held for parents, along with athletic and cultural activities. Students from local primary and secondary schools can also occasionally participate, giving everyone the opportunity to spend their free time together in a pleasant and meaningful way — and to build friendships!

Through our programs, the children and young people who participate are exposed to a wide range of activities, through which they strengthen their interests and also discover and develop their talents.

Depending on the focus of each program, the Afternoon “After School” Programs offer numerous physical, psychological, and emotional benefits. Participation enhances self-expression, creativity, and communication, while also supporting smooth group inclusion.

The selection of the group in which each child or adolescent will participate is made according to their abilities, needs, and preferred programs. Within each group, participants enjoy themselves as a team, learn together, and try new things. They can dance in Dance-Movement, relax in Yoga, play music in Music-World, express themselves through visual arts, or improvise in Theatre Play. They can also attend educational programs such as the Inclusion & Socialization Program, as well as External Programs for Road Safety Education and Community Socialization.

Whatever our children and young people choose, one thing is certain: they will have an AMAZING time!

Opening Hours

At the Creative Activity Center, the programs take place daily throughout the entire school year. The days and times the child/young person will attend depend on the group to which they will be assigned (a decision based on their abilities, needs, and the programs they wish to participate in). The program schedule is divided into two time zones:

A First Zone 13.00-16.00
B Second Zone 16.30-19.30

Some of our beneficiaries attend and participate in the programs during the First Zone (13:00–16:00), while others attend during the Second Zone (16:30–19:30). During each time zone, multiple groups participate simultaneously in different programs.

If preferred, there is also the option for an individual to participate exclusively in a single program.

Location

The programs are held at our facilities, at the 4th High School of Palaio Faliro, and at our organization’s space in the playground (Agia Skepi area – Palaio Faliro). For participants from the southern suburbs, there is also the option of transportation via the Association’s bus (pick-up from specific locations) upon prior arrangement.

Participation in the Programs

Interested individuals can initially contact the Association by phone (+30 210 9828150). A face-to-face meeting is then arranged, serving as a first introduction with the supervisor and the department head. During this meeting, the participant’s integration into one of the Creative Activity Center (KDAP) groups is discussed, based on the child’s/young person’s specific needs and abilities.
