“Pioneers” Association of Adjusted Sports
“Pioneers” Association of Adjusted Sports is a sports association (Decision Number 4804/01), officially acknowledged as a member of the Hellenic Sports Federation of People with Disability. The Association constitutes the sports club of the Pan-Hellenic Association of Adjusted Activities “ALMA”. The Association is supported by its members’ subscription fees, donations and some extraordinary subsidies. Its basic purpose is the participation of children and adults with disability (mental disability, autism and kinetic disability) in sports programmes with a competitive and/or entertaining character. The ultimate aim is for people with disability to play an active role in life, through their sports activities, and to reject the role of the person, who, exclusively dedicated to programmes of physiotherapy, is “subject to a permanent therapeutic intervention”.
Our Association, since 2001, has realized various programmes for children and young people with disability (mental disability). Today, more than 120 children and young people participate in the programmes.
