“FrontiZO” is an innovative programme of prevention and promotion of health that focuses on pre-school age, which is a particularly sensitive developmental period, during which the foundations of the normal psycho-emotional development of the child are laid. The programme addresses nurseries and daycares and aims at informing and sensitizing pedagogues and parents about the causes, the variety of the symptoms and the benefits of the timely assessment and therapeutic intervention of children and young people with Disperse Developmental Disorders (autism, Asperger disorder).
Recent scientific research has shown a significant increase of the frequency of the disorders of the spectrum of autism on an international level, with a rate that now reaches 1.47% of the total population (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014). Ignorance and the lack of information are often bad advisors and a cause for the excommunication and exclusion of people who do not form part of the “average” or are considered to be “different”. So, let us all give ourselves a chance, at a time when globalization fights the right to be different, to get to know the uniqueness of children with autism and the need to become part of the puzzle of the community we all belong to… the puzzle of life!!!
The programme is being realized under the supervision of the pedopsychiatrist with the participation of the scientific staff of the Daycare Centre “ALMA”.
