CARAVAN 2000 Movement
ALMA participates in Caravan 2000, a movement that started in 1996 by individual persons and organizations in Europe and the Middle East that fight for equal rights and the social integration of people with disability. The members of Caravan 2000 federation believe that difference can enrich society and they seek ways of creating cross-cultural acceptance and understanding in all aspects of human life and activity. The members of Caravan 2000 come from various European countries, Turkey and Israel and include bodies and organizations that deal with people with disability, groups of people with disability, service providers, legal advisors etc.
The value shared by all members is their belief that all people are equal, regardless of their nationality, gender, religion or their abilities. We acknowledge and value each one’s uniqueness and we base our activities on the respect of human rights, equal opportunities and the right of everyone to participate in all the sectors of society.
